More on the Crop Mob

Saturday April 10th at 10 a.m. Jefferson County
Crop Mobbers will be here for Missouri's first official Crop Mobbing. We've had confirmations from Kelly at Slow Foods St. Louis, Nicola from Ozark Forest Mushrooms and Julie hopefully along w/Mary Ellen from Earth Dance. Nicola will be donating mushrooms for the meal which will be orchestrated by Julie Ridlon of Chanterelle Catering of St.Louis.

For those of you who are confused about Crop Mobbing; A group of volunteers goes to a farm for the day to do a variety of things that the farmer needs done. In the spring maybe it's planting and bed or barn cleaning. This satisfies the need of the volunteers to be in touch w/their local food movement, supporting a farmer and of course it helps out the farmer. Generally a meal is shared as a thank you from the farmer and the camaraderie that comes from breaking bread together.

Again, please contact Pat Quigley who is the leader of the Jefferson County Crop Mobbers if you are interested in helping or publishing anything about this event. wwwtruckgarden@earthlink.net.

This will give us an idea how many will be in attendance.
