Market List;
Mixed Lettuce Heads, Radicchio Lettuce,
Lemon Cucumbers, Tomatillos, Leeks,
Bouquets, Yard Long Beans,
Non GMO Chicken Eggs and Slow Food Duck Eggs
We finally had some ducklings hatch out this week. They are Cayugas but a Blue Swedish brooded them. There will be less duck eggs for awhile as every duck and it's sister wants to sit on eggs. We have 6 Cayuga hens on nests. You don't know they made a nest until they've been sitting for a few days and by then it's too late, not only are the eggs started, but they've stopped laying too. We have 2 in woodpiles, 1 in a cage, 1 under a shed, 1 in a building and 1 in the barn. In any case, this translates to less eggs. If they hatch, it's worth it but many times a predator will get them, including our own dogs.
We finally are getting a decent amount of Lemon Cucumbers and we have several types of lettuce. The Romaine is surprisingly sweet. We still aren't getting many tomatoes yet. It's pretty embarrassing. They are coming but slooooooowly. It's just as hard on me as it is you.
So don't forget that the Vendors are really spread out at the Market and we are on the Square. We'll have drinks Saturday too and Pickles. Projected hotter than last week so dress accordingly.
God's Blessings on you and yours,
TTFN
