Last week we were surprised to find Cherries on our trees. They were already planted when we moved here and they are in a very bad place; nowhere near the house, well behind the barn and near the woods. We hardly ever get any-the birds and squirrels however, feast. Generally they are gone by Memorial Day and they are usually picked over before they even finish turning. I'm just guessing but maybe it was all the cloudy days last month that slowed them down but we caught them as they were starting to turn and after we harvested some, we were able to get both trees covered with Shade Cloth. We've been here 20 years and this is the first time we've had a prolonged harvest.

Several people commented on the snake in the barn story. Well on Sunday Bill called me to come look at another snake that he caught IN the DUCK'S NEST. The one that we got 2 weeks ago was 6 ft., this one, even though it doesn't look it in the picture, was 5'9". I still think that there's another one. Tuesday, we only had 22 chicken eggs and we've been getting 30-40 eggs every other night for the last 4 months.
