Balancing

Market List; Bunched Kale, Purslane, Forager Salad Mix, Grass Fed Lamb, Free Range and Non GMO Chicken Eggs and Slow Food Cayuga Duck Eggs.

So much of Farming is a balancing act; how many tomato plants to start for selling and for putting into the ground, which ones to offer for customers to grow and which to keep for you to sell the fruits to at Market. Should you sell the biggest plants at the Market OR put the biggest ones in the ground so you have tomatoes faster for sale? If you work one more hour, will you have enough salad mix for the customers AND yourself? But if you don't stop and cool off in the lake, will you feel like going on- what about the time you wasted walking down there and the swimming? Seriously, there are dilemmas. Should we have people out to swim on the 4th as we have previously. It takes up so much time not only getting ready but you want people to see the farm at it's best- while you are trying to plant, weed, prepare meals, take care of animals and get enough rest. Can the mailing list just be what we are bringing to market or do I need to say what's going on here? Balance.

I don't know if we are balanced or not but this week we got our first Lemon cucumber of the season and the first sunflower. The Chinese, Yard Long, Red Noodle beans have put on their first beans. Not quite a yard long yet but they will be here soon.

We will have a lot of lamb steaks at the Market on Saturday, Shoulder and Leg steaks, 2 types of Chops, Shanks, a neck roast, ribs and boneless meat. We raise the most delicious lamb.
See you Saturday. and if I don't - have a Happy and Safe Independence Day.

God's Blessings on you and yours,
TTFN,
